Drie Fonteinen Oude Gueze

Todays offering is a spontanous fermented Belgium traditional Geuze

Appearance:

Cloudy old gold (ala Wolves shirt) with surprising lasting head and large amount of carbonation

Aroma:

The aroma typically lambic wet hay/horse blanket with lemon/lime overtones.

Taste:

First of all dry but not as much as I was expecting, the taste has some tart fruity mixed with sour acid and a pleasant fizz from the carbonation. The finish is dry and lemony and long.

Overall:

As I said not a great fan of the lambic but this has all the flavour without the over sour taste. An ideally first lambic.

7.5/10
