Adnams Southwold Bitter

Today's offering has changed it's name from just Adnams Bitter and as I am drinking from the bottle, so it a bit stronger at 4.1% compared to 3.7%

Appearance:

Dark ruby reddy/brown with nice head that lasts

Aroma:

Orange and juicy malt come across the on the nose.

Taste:

The citrus taste is less than the smell with the juicy malt being more intense than expected with some peppery hoppyness coming in later. The finish is light in punch but very well balanced with the malt, citrus and bitter hops.

Overall:

A really nice bitter not special to be different but if on tap it would rank highly in my likely choice. Compared to yesterday's London Pride it is just not as intense in flavour. Highly drinkable though.

7/10
