Ridgeway Bad King John

Not in the book but available for free, my favourite type of beer

Appearance:

Very dark reddy brown with no head to speak of

Aroma:

Vinous fruit tempered by roasted malt and fig sweetness at the very end.

Taste:
Dark Vinous fruits with vinous fruits at first followed by a bit more fig fruit a burnt grain taste comes across followed by a surprisingly warming alcohol (it is 6%) rounded out by very bitter hops. The finish is very bitter with a hint of fig like fruitiness.

Overall:

strangely lots going on in the taste but still a little watery no real depth of flavour, a nearly beer

6.5/10
