Oakham Ales Inferno

British beer for fun

Appearance:

Light pale gold with white head that lasts a bit

Aroma:

Very odd smell of sweaty socks and floral hoppys, not looking forward to tasting this now.....

Taste:

Very bitter then metallic ferric taste like a nosebleed followed by hay blanket sourness, the finish is dry very bitter and slightly sour

Overall:

Weird beer after all that quite refreshing but I probably will not buy this again

Bradford Brewery Farmers Blond

Another Christmas present from my old mucker Tez

Appearance:

Light pale gold with white head that lasts

Aroma:

Slighty citrus hoppyness with freshly turned hay and a hint of malt

Taste:

Light malt with lighter hop bitterness slight metallic taste and over carbonation. The finish is surprisingly bitter but doesn't last.

Overall:

Quaffable as it has no strong taste, a little disappointing compared to the brown cow.

Point IPA

Todays offering is another point beer which I just wanted to try and I had never seen anything but point amber.

Appearance:

Not as pale as most pale ale being and old gold with large off white head that leave some legs

Aroma:

Floral citrus with a very faint hint of malt

Taste:

First hit is carbonation way to much then a quite nice balance of floral hops and malt which gives a nice rounded flavour with a touch of soapiness at the end. The finish is bitter hops but not so drying to the mouth

Overall:

For me this beer is ruined by the carbonation, it is a bit light in taste but very drinkable.

The Mayan Ilkley Brewery

Todays offering is a chocolate chipotle stout from the UK

Appearance:

Dark brown almost black with large tan head that has legs.

Aroma:

Chocolate at first then a hint of malt which is overtaken by smoky chillies

Taste:

First hit of chocolate then a more creamy mild malt comes through with a nice hit of carbonation. The finish is fading chocolate being overtaken by spicy smoky chillies

Overall:

Lovely beer though you can't drink to many as the spice stays!!

Point Amber

Todays offering is a blast from the past specifically my time in the US when I could get 24 long necks for 6.99 USD from the keg shop in Ames, IA; sadly not that cheap in the Netherlands

Appearance:

Burnished gold with large white head that lasts.

Aroma:

Malty with a touch of citrus hops in backgrounds.

Taste:

Slightly watery sweet malts with a hint of hops, very smooth taste, slightly over carbonated. The finish is slightly metallic.

Overall:

Nice enough but not a great beer just seemed that why compared to Bush light.
