Appearance

mid amber nice head lots of sediment

Aroma

Malt and honey with a touch of peppery hops.

Taste

Light malt with citrus with very bitter finish

Trappist lite (as American)

Hobson's Postman's Plum Porter

A local brew today, made with damsons not true plums


Appearance

Dark reddy brown with a touch of purple. Off white disappearing heaf

Aroma

Dark malt and then comes the damsons, which compete with hops and win in the end.

Taste

Starts fruity but only for a moment then dark roasted malt comes to the fore, then some spicy hops with fruitiness like the skin of the plum and final bitter finish, with a tiny hint of fruit.

Overall

Lovely beer could drink a lot of this! 8/10 look out for it hope they do it again next year

Monty's Eastbound Double IPA

A welsh american style IPA

Appearance

Cloudy light mahogany which good size white head.

Aroma

Hops and carrot whiskey (lethal farmer home brew).

Taste

Smooth than expected then some bitter hop with chewyness. It fades then the finish gets bitter and bitter as time goes on, with slowly warming alcohol.

Overall

Note complex enough as the American IPA a good start but needs a bit more malt IMO. 6/10

Wood's pot o' gold

A local award winning bitter
Appearance

Golden ale with white head which lasts

Aroma

Biscuit malt with a spicy hop

Taste

Bitter hop which gets oven taken by biscuit malt which fades to hop bitterness but not over the top but lasting.

Overall

Fine fine bitter quaffable and easy drinking but taste enough for sipping 8/10

Wood's Christmas Cracker

Today's beer is a Shropshire brewery Christmas offering.
Appearance

Ruby chestnut small amount if tan head

Aroma

Rich vinous fruits touch if biscuit and malt loaf

Taste

The vinous fruits start strong but fade with malt coming through followed by the fruits coming back in a more spicy finish.

Overall

Nice Xmas beer, just spicy enough 7/10

Dorothy Goodbody's Christmas Craker Ale

A Christmas offering for the birth of baby in my new tankard!
Appearance
Dark chestnut with hint of ruby, small off white head

Aroma
Dark cane sugar vinous fruits wee hint of hops

Taste

Slightly burnt caramel, spicey raisons touch of sour cherries that fade to bitter hop finish

Overall

Nice enough, could handle being a touch higher in alcohol to have that winter warmer effect 6/10

Ch'ti Noel

 Appearance
Light amber with white small bubble head

Aroma
Malt touch of wet hay

Taste

Malt with grain, very full flavour, pleasant carbonation. Finish is dry malt touch of hops and almost lambic style of wet hay.

Overall

Nice winter warmer beer not to complex but still good 7/10
